persistent surveillance, chemical detection, and target
identification, among others.**Position Summary and
Responsibilities**The **Accountant** will be a key member of the
Accounting Team supporting the timely and accurate month end close
process and the periodic preparation of internal and external
reports. The Accountant will also support audits and other major
projects.At this level, tasks and assignments may involve complex,
non-routine tasks and duties will be performed under limited
supervision.**Job Duties** + Prepares journal entries and other
analytical data in support of the month end close process+ Prepares
monthly and quarterly variance analysis of accounts as assigned+
Prepares account reconciliations, GL vs Subsidiary ledgers, as may
be assigned+ Prepares and improves the recording of subcontract
costs to ensure and maintain accuracy+ Provides guidelines as to
what items are taxable and creates a process to ensure taxes are
accurately and timely paid, recorded and reported; this includes,
but not limited to, Property Taxes, Business Tax Renewal, and Sales
Taxes on expense and capital items purchased+ Leads activities in
the preparation and timely submittal of surveys, insurance renewals
and other corporate requirements+ Supports internal and external
audit requirements+ Participate in team-based tasks such as
inventory count and reconciliation, floor check audit, and other
projects as assigned+ Identifies measures that can improve overall
efficiency of the accounting organization and strengthen controls+
Works with Assistant Controller on ad-hoc assignments as
needed**Qualifications****Qualifications & Competencies** +
Understanding of GAAP and corporate guidelines as they apply to
Accounting transactions+ Understanding of the relationship of
direct, indirect, and capital costs+ Strong understanding of the
basic financial statements and reports+ Identifies and resolves
problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information
skillfully and works well in group problem solving situations+
Responds promptly to customer needs; meets commitments timely and
accurately+ Professional written and verbal communication skills
and interpersonal skills+ Advanced computer proficiency using
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint); skilled in using
formulas and pivot tables in Microsoft Excel+ Displays exemplary
ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe
work practices**Education and/or Experience** + Bachelor in
Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field
with at least five (5) years of accounting experience with
increasing responsibility+ **Experience with manufacturing
businesses, inventory accounting, fixed assets and taxes**+
Experience using Deltek CostPoint a plus+ Experience with
Government Accounting a plus**Citizenship Requirements** Due to the
type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions,
