Imaging Sensors is an integral member of the Digital Imaging
Segment of Teledyne Technologies. Imaging Sensors provides advanced
imaging solutions for a variety of customers, including the DoD,
NASA, prime system integrators, and commercial customers. In the
civilian space arena, Teledyne sensors are the most advanced
sensors on board the Hubble space telescope, and they are also
found on board the majority of NASA space probes and ground based
telescopes. In the DoD arena, Teledyne sensors are integrated into
several major systems for persistent surveillance, chemical
detection, and target identification, among others.The Senior
Accountant will play a key role in the revenue recognition,
internal control processes, compliance with internal and external
regulations and management reporting for Teledyne Scientific &
Imaging.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepares and enters journal entries
- Records and verifies cost of goods sold percentages, percentage
of cost completion and cost type fee rates in support of month end
close procedures. This requires coordination of EAC submission with
Program Control group. -
- Reviews ASC 606 checklist and works with the Contracts
department to resolve any issues delaying revenue recognition
determination. Works with Teledyne Corporate to get guidance
pertaining to unusual contract terms and conditions as
necessary.
- Assists with review of monthly account reconciliations.
- Reviews and approves employees expense reports.
- Manages monthly reserve schedule, which includes inventory
reserves, disallowance reserves, warranty reserves, environmental
reserves, contract reserves, period costs reserves and bad debt
reserves.
- Coordinates and reviews quarterly variance explanations for
income statement and balance sheet.
- Supports activities in the preparation of annual surveys from
corporate offices.
- Supports preparation and submission of quarterly and annual
audit and tax packs.
- Interacts with internal and external auditors in support of
SOX, Government Compliance, and other audits.
- Assists, as required, in special projects to improve overall
efficiency, eliminating process waste and improving company
profitability.
- Prepares annual incurred cost proposal.Qualifications &
Competences
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Understanding of GAAP and corporate guidelines as they apply to
Accounting transactions
- Strong understanding of financial statements and reports
- Familiar with FAR and CAS regulations -
- Helps maintain SOX narratives and CAS Disclosure
StatementEducation and/or Experience
- Bachelor in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or
related field with at least ten (10) years of accounting experience
with increasing responsibility over time
- Experience with Government Accounting
- Experience using Deltek CostPoint, TM1, and OneStream a
plusCitizenship RequirementsDue to the type of work at the facility
