SUMMARY The Community Schools & Family Engagement Coordinator
reports to the School Operations Manager and serves as the school’s
lead for family engagement, community partnerships, and Community
Schools implementation. This role builds strong relationships with
families, staff, scholars, and community-based organizations to
ensure families are meaningfully engaged and that students and
families have access to coordinated supports that promote academic
success and well-being. The Coordinator leads family engagement
programming, oversees volunteer systems, and serves as the primary
site lead for Community Schools planning, partnerships, and
grant-related coordination. Responsibilities vary throughout the
school year and require strong systems-building, communication, and
collaboration skills. THE RESPONSIBILITIES FAMILY AND COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT Build and sustain strong, trusting relationships with
families and community members. Develop and implement a year-long
family engagement plan aligned to school priorities. Plan,
coordinate, and support schoolwide family engagement events (e.g.,
Cafecito, parent workshops, orientations, conferences, Community
Schools meetings, cultural celebrations). Create, distribute, and
maintain consistent, accessible family-facing communications.
Ensure family materials are culturally responsive and available in
required languages. Support staff with scheduling and facilitating
family meetings as needed. Conduct outreach to third-party
providers that support parent engagement (e.g., parent education
courses, workshops, and trainings). COMMUNITY SCHOOLS &
PARTNERSHIPS Serve as the site lead for Community Schools
implementation. Attend and actively participate in all required
Community Schools trainings, convenings, meetings, and events
facilitated by the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE),
including in-person and virtual sessions, as required by the grant.
Stay current on Community Schools requirements, timelines, and
compliance expectations communicated by LACOE and other governing
entities. Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify
academic, social-emotional, mental health, and family support
needs. Build, coordinate, and sustain partnerships with
community-based organizations and service providers. Coordinate and
align services and programs provided during and beyond the school
day. Integrate community resources with schoolwide priorities and
initiatives. Monitor services and partnerships to evaluate
effectiveness, identify gaps, and inform continuous improvement.
Serve as the primary liaison between service providers, school site
administrators, and Community Schools partners. Draft, maintain,
and submit all required documentation, reports, data submissions,
and deliverables related to the Community Schools Grant.
Collaborate with school leadership, staff, families, and community
partners to develop, implement, and update the community
school-site plan. Ensure compliance with all grant requirements,
including participation expectations, reporting deadlines, and
implementation benchmarks. VOLUNTEER COORDINATION Develop,
implement, and oversee family and community volunteer programs.
Identify volunteer needs in partnership with school teams. Ensure
volunteers complete required vetting, background checks, and
documentation. Track volunteer hours by family, event, and month.
Serve as the primary point of contact for parent and community
volunteers. SUPPORT SCHOOL OPERATIONS Support student recruitment
and enrollment efforts before and after the annual lottery. Assist
with family outreach, recruitment events, tours, and informational
meetings. Support re-enrollment processes, including
intent-to-return forms and follow-up. Coordinate onboarding and
transition support for new families from lottery through
matriculation. Support documentation collection and family
follow-up as needed. Serve as the Homeless and Foster Youth point
of contact. Support supervision of students during arrival, meals,
recess, and dismissal as assigned. Collaborate closely with the
Operations team to support schoolwide initiatives. Model Soleil

school operations. THE QUALIFICATIONS Required: Strong commitment
to Soleil Academy’s mission, vision, and values. Fluent in English
and Spanish (verbal and written). Flexibility to work extended
hours as needed, including evenings and weekends Excellent
communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to
manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Strong
systems-building, documentation, and follow-through skills. Ability
to engage respectfully with diverse families and community
partners. Comfort navigating sensitive conversations with empathy
and professionalism. Ability to work independently and
collaboratively in a fast-paced school environment. Commitment to
equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices. Pass TB
clearance and background check. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree. 3
years of experience in a school, nonprofit, or community-based
organization. Experience coordinating family engagement or
community-based programs. Experience working with grants,
reporting, or compliance requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft
Excel and data tracking systems. Compensation and Benefits
Compensation: Soleil Academy provides competitive salaries,
reviewed every three years. The hourly pay range for this role is
