Job Description Job Description SUMMARY: Speech/Language
Pathologists are communication specialists who work with both the
general education and special education population with language,
articulation, fluency and voice delays/disorders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. Administer
screenings for PST or teacher request to identify language,
articulation, fluency, and voice delays/disorders according to the
student's age. Collaborate and provide informal training related to
communication delays/disorders to school administrators, classroom
teachers, and parents during the pre-referral process. Lead IEP
meetings for caseload. Participate in evaluation meetings and IEP
meetings for students served. Develop, implement, casemanage, and
maintain special education files and paperwork according to IDEA
guidelines. Keep data on IEP goals to assess progress. Implement
individualized programs of therapy at school, daycare, or other
designated sites. Collaborate with outside agencies to meet
individual student needs. Provide information, support, and
carry-over programs to parents, families, and teachers of students
with communication delays/disorders. Attend and participate in
staffings/meetings on Intervention Days. Monitor hearing aids and
auditory trainers for students with a hearing impairment in their
respective buildings. Participate in team decisions regarding the
selection and development of assistive technology including
augmentative and alternative communication systems. SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises students EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in speech/language pathology. CERTIFICATES,
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certification from the State of Missouri
in Speech Pathology. DESE certification and Board of Healing Arts
Certification are needed for filing Medicaid. EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services
Personnel. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine-month employee on twelve-month
contract. Salary to be established by the Board of Educatio
