Overview
Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for a full time Maritime Chief Engineer to support naval Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) test and evaluation in San Diego, CA. - This project team develops, operates, and maintains cutting-edge robotic ship for the US Navy. - - -
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:---(Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills) -
This candidate must have experience with the following: -
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: -3+ years as a Chief Engineer or DDE. - - - - - - -
EDUCATION: -HS - -
CERTIFICATIONS AND TOOLS: USCG Chief Engineer or Designated Duty Engineer's license. - - - -
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. - -
TRAVEL: Some travel required. -
REQUIRED SKILLS: -


  • Current USCG Chief Engineer's or Designated Duty Engineer's license. - -
  • Three years' experience in a Chief Engineer's position. - -
  • Experience maintaining and repairing complex shipboard systems. - - -
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. - - - - - -

    PREFERRED SKILLS: -

    • Experience maintaining complex ship control networks. - Experience with machinery control Program Logic Controllers (PLC) especially desired. - - - -
    • Experience supporting test and evaluation (T&E) of maritime systems or vessels. - - - -

      JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Functionally, the successful candidate will: -

      • Operate and maintain large Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV) from onboard and remotely. -
      • Conduct routine and corrective maintenance of complex automated control systems, main engines, diesel generators, electrical distribution systems, and auxiliary systems. -
      • Assist with vessel modifications, including development of Engineering Change Proposals, procurement of parts, fabrication, installation, and testing. - - - - - - -
      • Assist with planning shipyard overhauls. -


        • Assist with electrical, mechanical and network payload integration. - - - - -
        • Develop maintenance plans and procedures. -
        • Assist with at-sea testing of USVs and associated payload, including test plan development, test execution, and post-test analysis. - - -
        • Operate various small boats. - - - - - - - - - - -

          • At-sea testing may sometimes require up to 70-hour work weeks. - - -
