The Strategic Planning & Operations Director for Global Product Strategy & Commercial Innovation (GPS & CI) in the Hematology/Oncology therapeutic area is responsible for driving execution and performance for strategic imperatives, behavioral objectives, and tactics. This role will work closely with the TA Head to deliver on key strategic and operational projects.In addition to providing strategic counsel to the VP and TA head, Hematology-Oncology, the SPO Director will serve as a leader and facilitator of cross-functional and cross-regional communication and alignment of key initiatives, such as driving commercialization strategy, innovation, prioritization, and resource optimization. The SPO will also serve as a key liaison with the regions on relevant pipeline assets and business development opportunities.Responsibilities include:Lead cross-functional and cross-regional GPS & CI strategic initiatives (innovation, capabilities evolution, prioritization and resource optimization, TA strategies, goal setting, launch planning, budgeting and portfolio management)Administer the activities of the Franchise Strategy Committee (FSC) including agendas, best practices, follow up and metrics to assess performanceAs "Chief of Staff" to FSC co-chair, facilitate ongoing operations and lead specific projectsPartner with Development, Regulatory, and Operations on planning and commercialization activitiesEnsure TA Head VP has broad view of key considerations, and elevate issues as necessaryFormulate recommendations for key decisions to be made by TA Head VPAttend and/or facilitate meetings on behalf of TA Head VPManage day-to-day operations for complex projectsTrack and manage TA resources, including headcount and budgetBasic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 4 years of project management experienceORMaster's degree and 7 years of project management experienceORBachelor's degree and 9 years of project management experiencePreferred Qualifications:Commercial experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including marketing, access, and/or salesStrategic planning and/or consulting experience in the biopharmaceutical industryScientific research experience and/or scientific literacy, particularly in diseases covered by the therapeutic areaAbility to translate high volumes of ambiguous or conflicting information into crisp and actionable insightsForesight and creativity in anticipating and resolving complex project and team issuesExemplary interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship management skillsOutstanding strategic thinking, analytical and project management skillsDemonstrated capacity to drive cross functional workstreams which may include senior managementDemonstrated ability to build relationships across functions and at all levels, including senior managementDemonstrated ability to influence others while fostering an environment of high performance and fairnessDemonstrated ability to understand, plan, and navigate in a highly matrixed work environmentDemonstrated ability to navigate and conform to Commercialization and Corporate Governance processesGoal oriented and results drivenQuick learner, proactive, takes initiativeFor nearly four decades, Amgen has been at the forefront of providing the oncology and hematology communities with novel therapies that have changed patients' lives.
