Company Overview Teledyne Technologies Incorporated specializes in providing a broad range of high technology solutions and products to the marketplace. Teledyne Imaging Sensors is an integral member of the Digital Imaging Segment of Teledyne Technologies. Imaging Sensors provides advanced imaging solutions for a variety of customers, including the DoD, NASA, prime system integrators, and commercial customers. In the civilian space arena, Teledyne sensors are the most advanced sensors on board the Hubble space telescope, and they are also found on board the majority of NASA space probes and ground-based telescopes. In the DoD arena, Teledyne sensors are integrated into several major systems for persistent surveillance, chemical detection, and target identification, among others. Position Summary and Responsibilities The Material Manager will communicate,--manage, and achieve strategic and tactical goals for two Teledyne Busines Units, Imaging and Scientific. The Material Manager is responsible for executing to program plans for both Business Units.-- Material plans will be jointly developed by Program Management, Planning and Procurement.-- Meeting cost and schedule commitments is paramount, and metrics shall be established to track performance. This position requires cross-functional leadership by facilitating collaboration between departments to find real-time solutions to internal--material constraints and/or external supplier issues.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible to the customer and program management to meet all material contract objectives (technical, quality, cost, schedule)
  • Manage, develop, and lead supply chain proposal activities including task descriptions and basis of estimates
  • Responsible for supplier communications and building a robust supplier relationships
  • Work collaboratively with all other functions to ensure that cost estimates and EACs are accurate, supports IMS date, processes are being followed, and staffing is appropriate for execution
  • Develop and execute material program plans (MPP). Establish Material Sales Forecasts for assigned programs.
  • Develop and execute risk/opportunity plans to meet program objectives.
  • Balance strategic thinking with tactical application of strategies to programs.
  • Work closely with Program Management, Engineering, Quality and Operations to create common schedule based on program Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Monitor performance metrics and proactively act to address program and functional issues.
  • Experience in Earned Value Management and Financial management skills, including Material EACs and Material Forecasting.
  • Experienced leader communicating and presenting to all levels of management and senior leadership
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical application of strategies to programs
  • Experience collaborating with Contracts and business leadership
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork and disciplined root-cause problem solving
  • Experience with government regulations (i.e., FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, TINA, etc.)
  • Experience with MS Office (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project) Qualifications Desired Skills:
    • Experience with developing and analyzing performance metrics as well as experience proactively addressing associated program and functional issues.
    • Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent
    • Experience with Proposal and New Business Capture
    • Certified Material Program Manager, Program/Project Management, PMP certification or equivalent such as APIC---s certifications.
    • Microsoft Project knowledge
    • Technical knowledge of related hardware applications as well as knowledge of operational and manufacturing processes
    • Fluency in Business systems, MRP, process, and procedure
    • Major Subcontract, Contract or Program Management experience
