For more information about Implant Direct, visit Description:Summary:Responsible for managing the direction of the Manufacturing, Sustaining and Maintenance Engineering departments. Lead/direct a team of manufacturing/sustaining engineers, programmers and maintenance technicians ensuring the team employs data driven tools and techniques that improve the overall manufacturing processes.Drive innovation and cost reduction through the introduction of new technologies and optimization of production equipment processes and systems. Drive business results improvements, new product speed to market, throughput increase, scrap reduction, TPM and safety. Provide leadership for engineering activities associated with existing and new product manufacturing processes. Oversee extensive Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) Program. Leader in the use of Lean tools including daily management .Essential Duties:Develop and maintain all areas of Engineering to ensure an efficient process flow and high productivity, primarily through the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques and automation.Identify new technology and equipment to support process improvements.Development and Management of Project Plans and Action Plans relevant to the activities of the department.Ensure that Manufacturing Engineering operations are validated and well documented, and in compliance with internal regulatory and safety policies.Lead the update of overall manufacturing processes and facilities to represent state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities.Develop and manage financial and manpower budget for manufacturing and test engineering, adhering to established budget parameters.Work closely with the Design Engineering department and the Quality Assurance department to ensure the smooth transition of new products to manufacturing.Establish and maintain effective communication with internal/external customers to facilitate problem identification/resolution; visit vendor sites for conformance with FDA/ISO regulations.Review documented test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and related analytical information.Provide expertise in troubleshooting process related problems (in house and outside) when required, including analysis of rejections / yield problems and corrective actions required.Participate in audits and investigations and make recommendations for problem resolutions or continuous improvement.Oversee the design of testing tools and fixture drawings.Guide subordinates in routing matters and in troubleshooting process deviations and equipment failures.Provide overall leadership to the Manufacturing and Test Engineering group, setting operational strategies, establishing business focused goals and objectives and continued talent development.Provide general leadership and motivation to employees, including the assessment / evaluation of all direct and indirect reporting personnel developmental needs. Including appropriate training and skills development to ensure personnel are competent and qualified to perform duties.Set goals, objectives and development plans for all subordinates.
