LAB MANAGER20BLOC is looking for a Lab Manager to join its laboratory in Thousand Oaks, working with a small R&D team. The person must have a biology, chemistry, or a biotech related background, and preferably to be local in the Thousand Oaks area. Self-driven, organized and detail-oriented are must. Fast learning, resourcefulness and good communication are valuable qualities for this job. This is not a remote position and salary range is $70k-$75k.

You will help us manage and maintain lab set up and environment, compliance, equipment, supplies, IT and other infrastructure of our laboratory and office in Thousand Oaks.

Day to day responsibilities
--- Lab duties
o Maintain an orderly laboratory, office and work environment
o Manage and maintain equipment and infrastructure
o Manage and maintain chemicals and products inventory
o Manage laboratory chemical disposal with specialized vendors
o Manage data and record keeping system with IT
o Assist putting in place proper insurance policies and coverage
o Monitor legal and compliance practices including safety

--- Procurement duties
o Place, track and follow-up orders and deliveries of consumables, & etc. with vendors
o Coordinate sending and receiving of samples with third-party laboratories
o Coordinate account payable activities and invoice reconciliation with accounting
o Help budgeting and forecasting laboratory needs
o Maintain network of professional and vendor contacts

Education, Experience and Knowledge Requirements
--- BA or BS degree at a minimum, in biology, chemistry, or a biotech related fields
--- Ability to write and communicate clearly, concisely, and succinctly
--- Experience in lab management and engineering process
--- Attention to detail and competence in working with worksheets such as excel
--- Good at planning, organizing, anticipating, and prioritizing
--- Integrity and strong work ethic is most important
