- Plastics experience - Knowledge of podiatry Description: The
surgical tech will be responsible for scrubbing in various surgical
cases. Floating between all operating rooms is expected with the
exception of designated rooms. The facility has 10 operating rooms,
each dedicated to specific types of surgeries. Neuro cases are
performed in one room, while total joint implants are handled in
two separate rooms. Major vascular surgeries are conducted in one
room, and a dedicated room is set up for heart surgeries. Other
rooms are designated for general surgeries, GYN, urology, plastics,
and a small amount of podiatry. The surgical tech will work
alongside nursing assistants to facilitate turnover, gather heavy
equipment, and manage patient transport. There are an average of 30
cases performed each day across all operating rooms. No
ophthalmology or bariatric cases are performed in this facility.
The charting system used is Cerner. The hospital reserves the right
to cancel up to four shifts during the 13-week assignment.
