SUMMARY The Senior Web Developer creates, designs, develops, and maintains company websites. The Developer collaborates within the web development team and with Product Managers, Ecommerce specialists, and the marketing team. This job focuses on user-friendly designs and intuitive navigation, tailored specifically to meet the needs and preferences of Pelican's target customers. J OB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops U.S. and international websites, including UI, UX, and back-end utilizing PHP, Laravel, and MySQL, bootstrap 5, HTML5, jQuery, JavaScript, ajax, and CSS.
  • Develops landing pages and new website content, which includes day-to-day website updates of promotions, product launches, and marketing initiatives to ensure smooth, efficient, and time-sensitive product and marketing launches.
  • Supports digital production of web assets inclusive of marketing tools, analytics tagging, and linking strategy, to be featured on category landing pages, product pages, online shopping tools .
  • Supports and executes improvements to navigation, site search and filtering to improve ease of product discovery.
  • Oversees the website's codebase, guaranteeing deliverables adhere to coding standards emphasizing performance, security, and ease of maintenance.
  • Supports eCommerce store launch, development, content updates, and optimization for conversion.
  • Collaborates with the eCommerce, Marketing, and IT teams on various site projects and updates.
  • Integrates website with third party solutions providers and provides oversight, and on-going maintenance.
  • Optimize content according to search engine optimization and marketing standards (SEO/SEM) standard best practices; utilizes knowledge of search engine analytics to maximize traffic to websites by w orking with internal and external resources.
  • Troubleshoots website problems and ensures data integrity for the public facing, vendor websites as well as managing our internal Product Information system.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may substitute for education.
    • Five (5) years of experience in web development
    • Advanced experience in PHP, Laravel, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and bootstrap 5.
    • Experience working with AWS, GitHub, React.js or vue.js, SOAP & Rest API
    • Experience with UI/UX design, Figma, and Adobe Photoshop
    • Knowledge of Agile development processes and source control practices
    • Proven ability to learn new technologies and deliver measurable results in a fast-paced production environment
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, business analysis and troubleshooting skills
    • Advanced debugging and optimization skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Seven (7) years of experience in web development ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

        • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
        • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
        • Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be able to work evenings and weekends if required.
        • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
        • Emphasizes ethical leadership and decision-making to protect Pelican's brand and reputation.
        • Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
          • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
          • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
          • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
          • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities. The approximate base compensation range is shown below.
