The Interventional Radiology Technologist's primary function is
to deliver high quality patient care while producing diagnostic
radiographs and angiography.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND LICENSING:
- Must be certified by the state of California in both
Radiography and Fluoroscopy.
- Registration through the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists (ARRT) is required. Technologist must be current with
continuing education requirements.
- Advanced certification through the
ARRT--Cardiac-Interventional(CI) or Vascular-Interventional (VI) is
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Interventional Radiology or
Cardiac Cath Lab is preferred
- Neuro-Interventional experience preferred
- Internal transfers from another modality or new-hire
technologists must achieve ARRT (CI) or (VI) certification within
twelve (12) months of reassignment
- Ability to function in technically demanding situations.
- Must maintain current BLS certification.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of asepsis.
- Ability to identify problems, generate and analyze feasible
solutions and choose an optimum course of action.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude
and a sense of teamwork.
