Join us.Senior Counsel - Patent - BiotechnologyThis role can be based at the research site in South San Francisco, California, or at the corporate headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California.LiveWhat you will doLet's do this. In this vital role you will develop, implement, and execute a global intellectual property strategy for Amgen's therapeutic products and product candidates (e.g., antibodies, dual targeting molecules, immunotherapeutics, or cell-based therapies), including formulations, process development, and manufacturing methods relating to Amgen's pipeline and in-line products.Responsibilitieswill include:Working with Amgen scientists to identify patentable subject matterDrafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications worldwideConducting prior art searchesAnalyzing patents and preparing freedom-to-operate opinionsConducting due diligence in support of licensing activitiesDrafting and negotiating research agreementsAnalyzing trademark and copyright issuesProviding legal advice and counsel to R&D and Business personnel on a variety of IP related mattersAssisting with litigation-related matters and challenging/defending patents in PTAB, opposition, and other forumsThe Senior Counsel will work individually, in legal teams, and in cross-functional research and business teams across various geographies.WinWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
