The PBX Operator I's primary responsibilities includes
understanding and comply with hospital, corporate and regulatory
standards. Answer calls on the telephone system switchboard, answer
questions by callers, and route callers to appropriate destinations
including hospital extensions, physician offices. Make calls to
numeric and alpha pagers, page hospital personnel, physicians,
patients, visitors and other appropriate persons on the overhead
intercom system. Make announcements on the overhead intercom system
for visiting hours, Code calls, alarms, events, and must be able to
use a Microsoft Windows based computer. Ability to use hospital
computer system to determine if patients are still in the hospital.
Record keeping as well as responsible for accepting, signing for
and notifying staff of deliveries. Assists Plant Operations and/or
Information Systems in testing systems in the PBX Operator
Reports To: PBX Coordinator
- Prefer High School Diploma.
Must be comfortable using a Windows based computer and Microsoft
Must be extremely reliable.
Must have a customer service attitude.
Must have good English speaking and reading skills.
Must remain calm in high stress, chaotic and/or emergency
Must be able to work independently.
Must be organized.
