A neonatal respiratory
therapist requires specialized training in neonatal respiratory
care. The respiratory therapist is responsible for respiratory
procedures and equipment in the NICU and nursery, attending
high-risk deliveries, going on transport to other hospitals to pick
up sick newborns.
Reports To: NICU
Certifications, and Registrations:
- Current State of
California RCP License
- Current BCLS
- Current NRP
- Current PALS
- High School
- Graduation from an AMA
approved 1 or 2 year Respiratory Therapy Program
- 2-years’ experience in an
acute care setting.
- Minimum of one-year
experience in a level II or III NICU.
- Demonstrates desired
clinical skills related to Respiratory
- Good communication
- Good Computer skills
- Ability to handle
multiple priorities, without sacrificing quality of
