Our 33-year heritage is founded on supporting complex and diverse DoD programs and we've developed a standout reputation for providing the highest quality services, superior workmanship and cost-effective results while achieving complete customer satisfaction.At Port Hueneme, SA-TECH operates and performs operational and intermediate level maintenance for aerial and seaborne assets in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division's (NAWCWD's) Targets and Marine Operations Division, including air and sea vehicles and vessels used for manned and unmanned training and test events.We are currently seeking to hire an experienced Welder Combo, whose primary duties will be supporting depot-level fabrication and repair, dockside at our facilities at Port Hueneme.Duties/requirements include (but are not limited to):Main duties will be supporting depot level fabrication and repair, dockside at Port Hueneme, CA.Required to work in, on and around various types of seaborne targets and marine equipment while performing any one, or a combination of the following: welding aluminum, steel and plastic components together, using gas welding, MIG/TIG, brazing and arc welding.Assist in fabricating or repair of marine products such as masts, trusses, decking.Use of powered hand tools is mandatory.Ability to read blueprints, sketches, drawings and work orders mandatory.Serve as a crew member on various size vessels.Other duties as assigned to include forklift operator, HAZMAT, safe and effective use of PPE and small hand toolsWork Conditions: Duties performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor duties may be performed on shore and afloat on even or uneven surfaces, which may be dry or wet. Requires the ability to work in a seaborne environment with some shift work at remote locations with occasional over-night assignments. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.Travel to remote working locations required and routine deployments on support and target vessels may be required, INCONUS and occasional OCONUS for mission support.Overtime required at times to support operations. Work Schedule currently is a 9/80 schedule (Mon - Thurs 9 hours, alternating Friday, 1 work 8 hrs. 1 off) RequirementsEducation/Experience/Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent (required)Technical school training or specialized training in the appropriate field required or a total of three plus (3+) years' experience in performing the stated functions may replace educationExperience in a military environment or on a military facility ( preferred but not required )Reading engineering drawings and specifications & data collection which will include manufacturing instructions and process specification to perform PMS on launch support equipment (required skill)In-depth knowledge of naval target maintenance practices to properly disassemble and reassemble several aerial target types ( desired skill )Technical writing skills to assist in documenting new manufacturing and/or assembling instructions for new designs developed in-house ( desired skill )Ability to independently plan & support efforts including timelines, possible cost estimates requiring parts and equipment, shipping & travel arrangements and coordination with the end user (required skill)Work in a technical capacity as a team member on frequent trips to field activities & vendors.Familiar with Computer/Networking/MS Office ( desired skill )Works well with others as a member of a team, strong communication skills, exhibits an excellent customer service attitude.Current CA Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Secret Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
