Job SummaryAvantor is seeking a 2nd Shift Reliability & Maintenance Mechanic to work in more than one of the maintenance trades such as hydraulics, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. -This role will be a full-time position based out of our Carpinteria, CA office. You will have the opportunity to interpret blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications!**$1500 Signing bonus, Benefits, Quarterly incentives, hourly rate plus $2.50/hr shift differential available!Work Schedule: 2nd Shift (2pm-10pm PST)What we're looking for: -

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: 3-5 years relevant mechanical experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: -
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• Basic electrical diagnosis skills including use of multi-meter.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools (dial calipers).
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to document repairs. and to read and interpret blue prints, drawings and repair manuals.
• Basic computer skills including Word and Outlook.How you will thrive and create an impact: -
  • Sets up and operates all tools and equipment necessary to perform work assigned.
  • May train and oversee daily duties of Mechanic.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and locates causes of trouble. -
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. -
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. -
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. -
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. -
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts. -
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. -
  • Lubricates and cleans parts. -
  • Starts devices to test their performance. -
  • May set up and operate drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. -
  • May initiate purchase order for parts and machines. -
